In my research A natural microchip shows the three Self-recapture methods, which I developed in accordance with the analytical psychology of CG Jung and with my found on the psychological types and on the psychology of personality. I have shown, through experience and empirical evidence, that the ' unconscious approach frees the person from addictions : 

 addiction to drugs, alcohol, gambling ..., dependence on partners in case of separation and abandonment.

The three intervention methods have the purpose of severing the unconscious link that has formed. It is an approach that does not interfere with other methods or therapies already in progress, as is psychological and acts on the unconscious functions.

Changes to the therapeutic community

The meetings with the youth of the therapeutic community [...] I was offered a framework that encompasses various aspects.

First. All the young people I met have expressed a strong desire to communicate and to communicate their previous experience and their present condition, which confirmed both my thesis about the unconscious link that comes to constitute between the subject and substance and everything what comes from it, it expanded my knowledge of the therapeutic program and on which in my opinion should intervene.

Daniele Story

The first to tell me his story was Daniel, a model maker of clothing.

Daniel says: "After four years in the Community program and four others working in the factory instead of my father retired, where he was doing repetitive work for me not gratifying, felt a desire to resume my old job of designing it so instead I liked it and I was interested. The company [...], it gave me the opportunity. I was immediately sent to Mauritius for a job, along with a model that I already knew. We talked for the whole trip. Joints in the hotel suite, the model ran to the bedside, where I saw the man entry above: immediately understood that he was snorting cocaine. Eight years of good intentions and self-impositions  were not enough  to keep me from yielding, indeed, in doing so, I felt a sense of freedom and lightness, as if I had finally taken  a weight  that my internal oppressed me. "

Here, the story of Daniel, similar in attitudes and results in many others, is the exact representation and confirmation of what I go with belief and experienced supporting: the unconscious link  between the subject (in this case Daniel), and the substance and everything else that goes around and that he had come to form, stands firm (like a weight in the stomach, says Daniel), and the only convincing action taken on his conscience can not dissolve it.

CG Jung:  "No one can snatch voluntarily unconscious the operating force. At best it can only deceive about it. "

For eight years Daniel with the will had tried to impose his conscience an attitude of rejection and separation from cocaine. Unfortunately, however, I did not think the same way his  unconscious functions , which went instead in a completely opposite direction. In fact, these, with only the laying operated on conscious part, were not deprived of their psychic energy, but only dormant.So, at the first opportunity, the first lowering of conscious tension (or weakness) unconscious contents have taken over and Daniele foundered.


For eight years the psychic energy of the unconscious contents had only been repressed, caged, as is that of an extinct volcano just on the surface, and so the first shock has exploded. Daniel also added: "I am convinced that I will never rid of this weight that I sense within me." Daniel may be freed from addiction to cocaine  only through action on the unconscious functions  of his psychological type.

In a quite similar situation to Daniel found themselves Ivo and Claudio; Dino and I think that, unfortunately, will be embarking on the same route.

Alessandro Story

A separate chapter is Alessandro, twenty years. He does not have a real addiction, the could do with a short period of Jungian psychotherapy.

And there is another aspect of extreme importance, I got to check out, shared a bit 'to all those with whom I have had contact within the Community and that the words of Alexander ... I have once again confirmed, ie the formation of  dependence  of the boys  by the Community  and its director P .... M ... .., which as drug addiction and like all other addictions, was formed in the unconscious.

Happens for all, roughly this.

The "boy", exhausted by a thousand vicissitudes, where he now feels helpless and unable to live them, reaches the Community. Here, finally, is someone who takes care of him, that someone who did not reject him, as did all the others so far, but which welcomes him as it is, without asking anything in return.

Helped by the rules and the environment of the companions, in circumstances similar to hers, soon "boy" feels like "family", but not as in that of origin, where guilt or otherwise would be forced to show himself better how he feels at that moment and that what might not be able to hold up.In Community is a "father", M ... .., which deals with him for long enough; find brothers and sisters and friends in his same conditions, and therefore on par; and find an "ideal mother", the Community as a whole, in which it is not forced to read pain and anguish, how differently would catch the eyes of his own mother.

Surpassed the initial period of adaptation and separation from the  physical-chemical dependency  from the substance - and by all accounts and their operators, it does not last more than two weeks - the young, accompanied by the memory of the sufferings passed, more and more is pushed in the new, much desired climate of peace, serenity and love, until over time to become accustomed to it. The tasks to be performed are all summed limited and even be welcome, because it forced him to run but at least relieve him from all the rest: the decisions to be taken, the risks to be addressed, from the uncertainties and fears lived outside.


But the natural law of the psychic consciousness-unconscious compensation, all this "wellbeing", gradually, day after day,  at an unconscious level , causes a partial regression of the personality that leads him to a growing and always looking for "shelter" in " sweet breast riverbed of the Community ", and, consequently, to a dependency on it - comparable to that of the child from the mother  (remember that the unconscious has primitive behavior, elementary, like those of the small child) .

To all this, and for this, it is necessary to make corrections to the Community Programme.

After  a first and great  period of acceptance and adaptation of the boy in the Community, as  is currently the case  (ie undertaken a process of recovery and processing for a "lost soul and willing to care" for individual adult and mature), you should:

- Adapt the subsequent phases of the program in order to stimulate and educate the "boy" to grow in autonomy and responsibility;

- Structure the program so that the guy gets used to face consciously external life for what it is, with its uncertainties and its difficulties, but also with more freedom and the satisfaction of becoming the protagonist of himself;

- Gradually reduce and soon the top-down imposition of rules and duties and leave instead of the "boy" conquer alone, more and more, the possibilities for self-management and responsibly choose what is best for himself.

 
Keep the "guy" in strict obedience for a long time would be like holding (comparison rude but effective) a wild animal in captivity for too long: after will not want to leave, because outside sees too many beasts to contend. The boy will not feel more able to "fight" to live and fear, as the regression, it would have to opt increasingly for more comfortable and less risky solution to which you are accustomed.

 
The book entitled "The Sommerhill guys" exposes pedagogical principles that, in the due limits, in my opinion, could be part of the therapeutic community program.

Path

In summary, I support this:

  • Maintaining the first and  great  period of acceptance and adaptation of the boy in the Community, as is currently the case;
  • Immediately after, apply, as the case and the psychological types, one of the three methods, described in my book A natural microchip, to  sever the welding of the unconscious link  that is made ​​between the person and the object of addiction.

Then the streets are two:  one , if the "boy" feels ready to return to society leaves the Community;  two , if the "boy" does not yet feel ready, continues the program, the following measures:

-         Reforming  the Community program to promote the autonomy and independence of individual children for their  reintegration  into civil society;

- Inclusion in the program each child a period of Jungian psychotherapy, to untie the knots (complex) and  fortify  the personality.
